Player Summary: RS SR and 2 yr full-time starter on the DL where aligns primarily at NT in a 0/1T with occasional 3T in the 3-3-5 Nickel defense of OHCI in an okie heavy front. He possesses poor height with ordinary weight and excellent speed with a powerful, stocky build. He is an above-average athlete who shows above-average explosiveness, COD, acceleration, balance, very good lateral quickness and agility with good play speed. He is solidagainst the run. He fires out quickly and does a decent job of keeping his pads down. He exhibits good UOH striking the breastplate of the C. He displays quality play strength as he disengages from C with marginal grip strength, locates the ballcarrier and makes the tackle in his gap on inside runs. He is stout at the POA as he maintains good gap integrity when facing a doubleteam block from IOL with average foot drive. On outside runs, he exhibits good range as he plays outside the Tackle boxwhile in pursuit of the ballcarrier. He is above-average against the pass. He exhibits solid getoff and displays good UOH in his punch, placement and timing as he executes a bullrush creating knockback as he strikes the C. He exhibits very good lateral quickness and agility as he twists towards the outside and penetrates the LOS as he disengages from OG/OT with ordinary flexibility and UOH. He plays with an excellent motor in pursuit before finishing up with a sack or a QBH. He plays with good mental toughness as he elevates his play in the 4th qtr combined with very good competitiveness as he plays to the whistle consistently. He possesses a subpar pass rush move repertoire consisting mainly of a bullrush. If his progress is negated at the LOS, he struggles to consistently execute a counter move preventing him from disengaging quickly both against the run and pass.
Scheme Fit: NT in a 1 or 2-gap scheme due to his athleticism and stoutness at the POA.
Power Statement: Powerful, athletic, tough player who can rush the QB well and is solid overall against the run. His above-average athleticism and motor allows him to play with very good range and he gives 100% on every play. He possesses a below-average pass rush move repertoire which contains mainly of a bullrush.
