What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I was always an athletic kid growing up, and kept myself busy with many sports like soccer, swimming, and karate. It wasn’t until 7th grade when my school friends suggested that I should play football because of my size, and I decided to carry on playing through high school where I fell in love with the game.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

There’s a lot of notable moments like winning the Hardy Cup and going to the Vanier in 2023, to my very first win in U Sports against the Regina Rams in 2021. That moment in the locker room at Mosaic will always hold a special place in my heart as my time contributing to a team win at UBC.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I hope to have a long and healthy career in the pros and inspire the next generation of young athletes. I aspire to be a hall of fame player one day and hopefully win a Grey Cup.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, so I could discuss what it takes to be an elite professional offensive lineman, who also aspires to have a long career in STEM after their football career comes to an end.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My sister inspires me the most because of her resilience and how she raised me to be the best version of myself. She is my role model for achieving my goals.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

My favourite offensive scheme is definitely gap scheme. I enjoy pulling, for kick outs and second level defenders, and the dynamic nature of denting defences is very fun for me.

What should we know about Arvin Hosseini the person?

On a personal level, I’m a people person and love making new connections, especially with people who share my interests. I love to be in nature in my off time, as this helps me get stress off my mind.

What stands out about your film the most?

I would say that my aggressiveness is what stands out the most, and my hunger to finish blocks and look for more work before the play is over.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

Handling personal and football related adversities is hard, but I credit my support system which includes teammates, friends, and family who help me to keep my mind off of stressors and problems. Talking about problems with my friends and family is what helps keep me in check and brings me back to reality.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Teams will get coachability, aggressiveness, and passion out of my game. Having experienced all positions across the offensive line, I bring versatility and reliability to any roster.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the fact that football is real. While players can talk all they want and show off on social media or when talking to press, it is one of the few places in life that will still humble somebody due to its physical nature. At the end of the day, the bigger, stronger, and better prepared player wins and that’s what I love about the game, those who work for it will see it pays off.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

I would say that my teammate Jason Soriano is definitely the most underrated player on my team. Being able to play both sides of the ball and make plays in crucial games, he is a Swiss Army knife player that any team would be lucky to have.
