Saquon Barkley is in it for the long haul with the Eagles

Saquon Barkley has had an incredible career, starting with the New York Giants, extending into the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2024 season. On March 11, 2024, Saquon signed a 3 year, $37.75 million contract for the Eagles.

After rushing for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns, 1 backwards hurdle and ending the season with a Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. The 2024 season proved well for the Eagles organization, well-enough, in fact, to sign a 2 year extension worth up to $41.2 million with $36 million guaranteed at signing.

Saquon’s extension lines the Eagles up for continued success for many years.

Not only is he locked in through the 2029 season, but this leaves room for future signings of younger players such as Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Nakobe Dean, and Cam Jurgens.

This move will also allow players like Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown more room to negotiate their contracts when that time comes to allow the team the best chance to return to the big dance.
