What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?
I was a big baseball fan growing up, however once my brother started to play football, I saw how much he enjoyed it and wanted to try. Over time I began to love the game and every aspect that came with it.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
Most of my best memories regarding football are the relationships that it has allowed me to build. I also am very fond of some of my team’s “underdog” wins in the past. The best example of this would be winning with Guelph against Western in 2021.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
I want to take football as far as I can. Currently CFL is my big goal ahead of me.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?
I wouldn’t change a thing; I’d still choose to hang out with my fellow offensive linemen at Guelph. These have been my best friends over my time at Guelph and will be my best friends for the rest of my life.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
Both of my parents have inspired me the most. Seeing their dedication to me and my brothers sporting careers has always pushed me. I believe my dedication to football is a reflection of their dedication to all aspect in life.
What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?
One of my favourite types of scheme is any RPO scheme, I really enjoy the different levels there are to these and how an offense can make the defense wrong no matter what.
What should we know about Ethan Pyle the person?
I feel people should know I’m a very outgoing person who is family oriented. I always love making new connections and enjoy my time with my family.
What stands out about your film the most?
I feel my technique stands out most in my film. I always try and put myself in the best position and have proper leverage on defenders.
How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?
When I’m faced with challenges I always try and go through a logical step by step process. I find this helps me deal with challenges as I can focus on either the root of the problem or find the proper steps to take to resolve it.
What would a team get in a player like you?
I feel teams are getting a very smart and consistent football player. I also pride myself on being a good leader, and a good teammate.
What do you love the most about the game of football?
I love the relationships that football builds, I’ve made some amazing memories with my teammates over the years. I also love the mental aspect of football, game planning for certain teams, certain players and learning new concepts.
Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?
One of the most underrated players I have played with in my teammate Thomas Bourikas. Seeing how much he has developed over the years is truly inspiring. Coming back from a serious injury better than before, I feel he deserves recognition for his play.
