2025 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka

Emeka Egbuka is one of the few prospects in this years class that I’ve gotten the chance to follow throughout his college career. He is a very polished, high-IQ, high floor receiver who would be a great addition to any receiver room. He is not overly tall but he has good size and build for the position and is filled out well with good arm length.
Egbuka isn’t a top end athlete, but he has good movement skills and can create in space. He has enough build up speed to run away from defenders in the open field with good quickness, but is not an elite speed player. He could potentially be quicker than some of his tape indicated due to some ankle trouble he was dealing with.
Emeka is a very natural route runner with good pace and twitch within his routes. Despite not having top end speed he is able to generate separation consistently. He excels at all three levels of the field, but is an especially smooth short area route runner and is an extremely smart route runner able to find soft spots in zone and attacks blind spots.
He could stand to improve his ability to beat press off the line, but I don’t think he is a slot-only player. He certainly needs more experience to be able to refine his inside-out versatility. Egbuka lacks an elite catch radius to dominate jump ball situations, but he has very good hands and is able to make tough catches in traffic.
Overall, Emeka Egbuka is a very dependable player who can step on the field and be a winning asset from the moment he is drafted. While he isn’t an elite athlete, he is very well rounded with few holes in his game.
He’s best with a free release off the line of scrimmage, but should not be exclusive to the slot at the next level. I’m not sure he has one top notch trait outside of his hands to solidify his status in the first round, but whoever does take Emeka Egbuka is getting a very good football player.
