Dallas Cowboys making a huge push to sign Cooper Kupp | Third Generation Cowboy?

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Cowboys are pushing to sign wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Kupp was released by the Rams earlier this week.

It’s an interesting idea because Cooper Kupp would join his father and grandfather in playing for the Dallas Cowboys.

Cooper Kupp was recently released by the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL, and has become one of the league’s top wide receivers. The Cowboys could use another weapon for Dak Prescott and this would be an instant upgrade for Dallas.

If Cooper is signed, he will be a third generation family member to be signed by the Cowboys.

Craig Kupp, Cooper’s father played for the Cowboys, his time with the team was relatively short. He played one season (1990) as a backup quarterback.

His grandfather, Jake Kupp, was an offensive lineman who spent most of his career with the Cowboys in the 1960s and 1970s.

However, Cooper Kupp wasn’t born yet during Jake’s time with the Cowboys, it would be pretty cool to see the Cowboys go after one of their alumni’s kids.

If Cooper signs with the Cowboys he will be the Kupp family will become the first family to have three generations playing for one team. There are four families besides the Kupp’s who have three generations playing in the NFL, but none of them have played for the same team.

In short, while it would be cool for Cooper Kupp to join the Cowboys and follow in his father and grandfather’s footsteps, but it will come down to if Jerry Jones wants to spend money. He said he would not be aggressive, but they are in the mix according to Adam Schefter.
