The Las Vegas Raiders potentially landing Matthew Stafford continues to heat up!
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, both sides the Raiders and Stafford’s camp are reportedly finding common ground on what a potential new contract could look like.
While “common ground” doesn’t equate to a finalized deal, the report strongly suggests that if the Los Angeles Rams and the Las Vegas Raiders can come to terms on a trade, Stafford and the Raiders are likely to reach an agreement on a new contract.
The Raiders and Rams will have to agree on a trade, which could be tough. Especially if the Raiders are unwilling to part with their 1st round pick.
Stafford, who is under contract with the Rams for two more seasons, is seeking an extension because he has minimal guaranteed money remaining on his deal.
Los Angeles appears apprehensive about giving Stafford, who led the team to victory in Super Bowl 56, what he is asking for.
The Raiders could still end up taking a quarterback in the first round, but man if they can land Matthew Stafford that would be a huge win.
