What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Honestly, I started playing football in high school, but once I got that first season under my belt and saw how good I could be, it stuck with me. I decided early on that I wanted to play football at the highest level.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

3 moments that stand out for me are winning state in high school, getting my first college sack, and winning our conference championship twice in the last 3 years.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

My biggest goals right now are to perform well on Pro Days coming up and make it onto an NFL roster. From that point, I want to make a big impact and continue working my way up.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

I’d say either Derrick Thomas or Aaron Donald both of those guys were/are extremely talented individuals and being able to pick their minds about the game would be extremely beneficial for me.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

I’d say my mom I watched her growing up working multiple jobs to take care of me and my siblings. I saw early on what it meant to be a hard worker and never give up no matter how tough your situation is.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

My favorite defensive scheme is the 4-2-5 because of its versatility against modern offenses. The extra defensive back improves coverage while keeping a strong front against the run. It allows for creative blitzes, disguised coverages, and flexibility against both power and spread offenses.

What should we know about Jaikub Jones the person?

I’m a relentless competitor who’s passionate about football and personal growth. I value teamwork, discipline, and resilience, always striving to elevate those around me. Off the field, I’m dedicated to my faith, self-improvement, and making a positive impact. My journey has been shaped by overcoming setbacks, staying focused on my purpose, and embracing challenges with urgency and consistency.

What stands out about your film the most?

I’m violent at the point of attack, with a dominant mix of power, speed, and technique. I’m not a guy you can leave unblocked—if you don’t gameplan for me, I’ll disrupt your entire offense and ruin your day.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I attack challenges head-on, both in life and on the field. On the field, I adapt, adjust, and dominate. Off the field, I lean on my faith and keep pushing forward, turning every obstacle into fuel for growth.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get a relentless playmaker with the perfect blend of power, speed, and technique. I’m a disruptive force who demands attention on every snap—leave me unaccounted for, and I’ll wreck your game plan. Beyond the field, I’m a leader who elevates those around me, bringing a winning mindset, work ethic, and an unshakable drive to succeed.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the game of football because it challenges me to be my best, both physically and mentally. It teaches me discipline, teamwork, and resilience, and it allows me to express my passion and dedication on the field. Football is more than just a game to me; it’s a way of life that has helped shape who I am.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

My buddy Jimmy Jefferson is probably the most underrated. He’s a bit undersized for the position, but he’s easily one of the most technique-sound guys I’ve ever known. He’s got a perfect mix of speed, explosive get-off, and technique.
