Star High School Football Player Killed in a Fiery Crash

On February 20th, 2025, a star football player from Canada was killed in a fatal car accident.
According to the news, Garrett McAuliffe a star linebacker in Nanaimo, British Columbia was one of two people who were killed in a fiery crash.
The other victim was Nathan Bennie who was the driver of the car. A GoFundMe account was created to help with funeral expenses.
A memorial grew Wednesday at the scene of a fiery crash that killed two young men on the Nanaimo Parkway.
Family and friends have identified the victims of the Feb. 20 crash as driver, Nathan Bennie and passenger Garrett McAuliffe, both of Nanaimo.
The car landed in a ditch after unexplainably turning into the path of an oncoming semi-truck and colliding with it.
McAuliffe is remembered as a star varsity football player at his Nanaimo high school.
He played for the VI Raiders in 2022, before injuries forced him to sit out the 2023 season, and continuing injuries led him to return to play only one game in 2024.
