Former Star HS Quarterback Identified as Victim in Deadly Shooting in South Carolina

Former Ridge Spring-Monetta High School football standout Remedee Jennings-Leaphart, known for his dynamic playmaking ability reminiscent of Lamar Jackson, tragically lost his life last week in a fatal shooting in Aiken County.
Authorities report that the shooting occurred last Friday in the 100 block of Pine Circle. Leaphart was initially transported by a family member to a local clinic before being transferred by EMS to Lexington Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
An autopsy was conducted in Newberry on Friday, and the investigation remains ongoing by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Leaphart, a key player for the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans, led his team to the state quarterfinals during his senior season. He also represented Team South Carolina in Border Bowl IX in 2022.
Please keep the Jennings-Leaphart family in your prayers. This is such a tragedy. If you know any information make sure you reach out to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
We wanted to share some of Remedee’s highlights because he was a great player. Rest In Peace!
