Former Star High School Football Player Killed in Freak Accident When A Tree Landed on Him

A Clemson University student lost his life in a tragic accident over the weekend when a fallen tree unexpectedly shifted, trapping and crushing him while he was clearing debris in South Carolina, officials reported.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that 20-year-old Ethan Alexander Ackerman died Saturday morning while assisting in the cleanup of a large area where several trees had been uprooted.
Authorities explained that one of the fallen trees suddenly sprang back into an upright position, pinning Ackerman beneath its base.
Despite efforts from his friends to free him, the massive tree was immovable. First responders arrived and were able to extricate Ackerman, but he had already succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to his obituary, Ackerman was a former offensive lineman for Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina, where he played a key role in back-to-back state championship football teams.
Please keep the Ackerman family in your prayers during this horrible incident.
