Former Florida Gators star football player arrested with crystal meth and weapons

Former Florida Gators star pass rusher Earl Okine was arrested this week and charged with drugs and weapon charges.
An Alachua County Sheriff’s deputy stopped Okine’s vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign. During the traffic stop, probable cause was established to search the vehicle, which resulted in Deputies locating 1.9 grams of crystalized Methamphetamine, a small amount of Marijuana, and a Smith and Wesson handgun that was loaded with an extended magazine containing multiple rounds of ammunition.
Okine was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm while in the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams.
Okine would end up going undrafted and signed by the Houston Texans as a free agent. Okine will face some legal troubles now with these charges, but it is sad to see a familiar face in the news.
