Howdy y’all, it’ Sid Kalyani and I am going to discuss the results of the 1st round of the playoffs.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Houston Texans

This game was very defensive heavy in the first half as both Justin Herbert and CJ Stroud were having struggles getting the ball down the field and turning the ball over. The only spark we had was the Nico Collins touchdown in the second quarter and that gave way for the Texans to take over. Herbert was having the worst game of his career, throwing 4 interceptions, and the rest of the team could not stop the Texans besides Ladd McConkey.

Pittsburg Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens

Even though this game ended 28-14, it felt like a blowout. The Ravens offense controlled the tempo of the game through Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry and their defense had an answer for everything the Steelers had for them. As for the Steelers, they showed glimpses of their success in the second half, but they had fallen off in the second half of the season which caused the lack of offense.

Denver Broncos vs. Buffalo Bills

This game looked like it was going to be an upset for the Broncos as they started off the game with a big play touchdown, but the Bills showed why they are the 2 seed. They had the run game down and Josh Allen made play after play against one of the best defenses in the league. In the second half this game became a blowout as the Broncos could not match the Bills offense which showed the maturity that the Bills have.

Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Another one sided game, the Eagles took control of every aspect of this game. Jordan Love was being hounded every play and made continuous bad throws against an Eagles team that has a lot of firepower on offense, especially with the backfield of Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts. The Eagles look better than before and they have what it takes to get back to the Super Bowl.

Washington Commanders vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This is the only close game of the weekend. Both teams had a response for the other and it looked like this game was going to overtime, but Jaden Daniels again led his team to a game winning drive. He is definitely frontrunner for ROY and this Commanders team looks completely different than that of the past, as they look more talented and hungry to win.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams

I thought this was going to be the game of the weekend, but the Rams dominated everything. Playoff Matthew Stafford is real and was dealing against the Vikings defense while Sam Darnold looked like his Jets version of making bad decisions and not looking comfortable. The Rams defense was definitely the MVP of this game as they would not let the Vikings get away with a single touchdown and controlled the entire game.

Thanks for reading and I’ll be back for the Divisional Round predictions next.
