What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

Football has been my first love ever since I can remember. I’ve been playing since I was 6 years old and have enjoyed every minute since then.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My father was my coach during little league and we had some great times together during those seasons. Also winning the conference championship my senior year of high school was an amazing experience. Lastly all the traveling and opportunities that I’ve experienced during my 6 years of SEC football will stick with me for a lifetime.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

Looking forward, I hope to find a role in the NFL that allows me to contribute both on offense and special teams in order to help an organization make several playoff runs for years to come.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

I would have to say Dez Bryant because I grew up a Cowboys fan and he was always my favorite player as a kid. He also has a lot of ball knowledge that I could learn from.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My father first introduced me to the game of football and has been a pivotal part of my growth and development ever since so he inspires me in many ways.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

I like a pro-style offense that is both run and pass-heavy because it allows me to play the tight end position to its fullest extent. I am proud of my ability to both block and catch the ball and appreciate every opportunity to showcase my skills on the field.

What should we know about Justin Ball the person?

As a person, I like to think that most people would say I’m down to earth and a genuinely positive/happy guy. I am a God-fearing man and my family comes directly next. I pride myself on being intelligent and using that to help me play fast and loose on the field as well.

What stands out about your film the most?

The constant aggression and physicality I play with as well as just being a tough guy. I do a lot of dirty work but never back down from a chance to get the ball in my hands and make a play for my team.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I put all of my trust and faith in the Lord and his plan for me so whether I’m having a good or bad day there’s always a lesson and a chance for learning. In life, my support system is always there for me if I’m going through something that I can’t handle on my own. On the field, I have a reset mentality in between plays whether good or bad because the game is all about consistency.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A hard worker who is going to give his all everyday and genuinely loves the game of football. I am coachable and quick to adapt to my surroundings. Also a locker room guy who will never have any issues off the field.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the ability to grind for months and months and see all the work I’ve put in payoff every weekend with my brothers at my side against the best of the best. That competitiveness is rare and special.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Going back to my early years at Vanderbilt, Andre Mintze was extremely underrated for not only his production but the energy he brought to the game. He was one of the hardest workers Ive ever seen and did everything the right way but also cared about his teammates as if they were his blood. Andre has had a stint in the league, but he should definitely be on a NFL roster for years to come.
