What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

My dad introduced me to football at a young age and is an Eagles fan and introduced me to players like Jeremiah Trotter and Brian Dawkins and those guys inspired me to be a football player myself.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

2020 COVID year we beat Marshall, and it was one of the best displays of defense I have ever seen, and we got a shutout, and we came together as a team, and we were playing UAB, and I had back-to-back sacks to end the game in a walk off type scenario.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

Want to be great in the NFL but at first make a roster and prove to myself that I can help the team defensively or on special teams and that I can eventually be an All Pro or Hall of Famer.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, who and why?

Brian Dawkins, just to see how he could be so dominant and representative of his team on the field and what he did for his family off the field as well.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My dad, he grew up in the inter-city of Philadelphia and didn’t have much growing up and got to MIT and he worked hard and showed me that nothing in life is given, and you can change your family’s life with passion, and you can dedicate your life with that.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

Big fan of the 3-4, you can do a lot of things, you can use my skillset both rushing the passer as an edge and covering in space. Being able to be used as a weapon and show my versatility.

What should we know about Josh Pearcy the person?

Someone who stands on his word no matter what and outwork the competition in order to get the job done and someone that works hard no matter what and someone that seeks to God in everything that I do both on and off the field.

What stands out about your film the most?

My high motor and relentless pursuit to get to the ball and my versatility. My ability to rush the passer both at edge and off the ball and my ability to stop the run both at edge and off the ball and ability to cover running backs and tight ends.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I talk to God, both when I’m facing off the field and on the field in short times when adversity hits me that isn’t planned. On the field I believe in that next play mentality that I will move on so that the last play doesn’t affect the next play.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get a leader that leads by example, someone dependable and someone willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and bring others with him.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love to hit; there’s no better feeling than getting a big hit and compete with the man in front of you and I have a mentality to dominate the man in front of me and also to work with a group of guys working towards a common goal.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

Gabe Taylor, he’s a guy that works hard, stays in the film room and works on his craft and is a great leader.
