Jack Hoffman the young boy with cancer who captured the hearts of every Nebraska fan died at the age of 19
Jack Hoffman, the young cancer patient who touched the hearts of Nebraska football fans and inspired the nation when, at just 7 years old, he ran for a touchdown during the Cornhuskers’ 2013 spring game, has passed away at the age of 19.
Kylie Dockter, executive director of the Team Jack Foundation, confirmed that Hoffman passed away from brain cancer early Wednesday at his home in Atkinson, Nebraska. In October, medical tests revealed the presence of new and more aggressive tumors.
Hoffman initially was diagnosed in 2011, and his parents, Andy and Bri Hoffman, were the driving force behind the Team Jack Foundation, which supports pediatric brain cancer research.
Rex Burkhead who became really close with Jack posted this tweet:
Please keep the family of Jack and his friends in your prayers.
