2025 NFL Draft Prospect interview: DJ Woodbury, LB, Temple University
DJ Woodbury is an impact defensive player and was a consistent bright spot on the Temple Owls. He was second on the team with 103 tackles and had two sacks an interception last season. Recruited as a three-safety out of high school from Burlington City, New Jersey Woodbury has a a high football IQ with pass rushing ability and is around the ball all game. A very intriguing prospect in this years draft that could be a solid piece on a defense. I talked to him about the Temple Owls program, last season and this years draft for NFL Draft Diamonds.
Leader: Why do you like being a Temple Owl?
DJ: Being a simple owl is something that will stick with me for the rest of my life. TEMPLE tough! Is a lifestyle is the way you live is the way you go by your day-to-day life. Going to Temple University you see things that you wouldn’t see at you other campus, make sure adapt to life it makes you understand that you have to move different be a leader among most college students.
Leader: What coaches have you grown a great relationship with?
DJ: All of my coaches that I’ve had had over the last 23 years of my life have all had an impact on me and taught me great things. But These three , Coach Chris Woods, Coach Ray Robinson, and Coach Najee Lundy helped me understand how to be the best man I can be and how to navigate life through Football And I’m forever grateful for that.
Leader: What do you feel you offer to an NFL Team? What about the way you play will help you impact at the pro level?
DJ: I offer someone who’s going to come to work every day with 100% attitude, mindset and effort! I offer a team, a playmaker & another coach on the field! You’re getting a guy who hates losing more than he loves winning. At the end of the day, you’re getting a guy that loves football!! A leader on and off the field, not afraid of holding guys accountable as I want done to me.
Leader: How would you describe the importance of a linebacker?
DJ: The linebacker position is the quarterback of the defense, once you have a great linebacker that Controls the Defense and plays with an edge to him and he is physical, you have nothing to worry about.
Leader: In the locker room with your teammates. What would a coach like about your impact in the locker room?
DJ: I’m a uplifting guy I believe no matter what’s going on in your life what is going on around you, you gotta stay positive. I’m someone who brings energy with them each and every day I like to laugh like to have fun, I like to enjoy the moment!
Leader: What would you say was the best game you played last season?
DJ: UTSA 13 tackles 1 sack, 1 int, 3 TFLs
Leader: Who do you feel are the top three players in the NFL at your position?
DJ: Fred Warner, Roquan Smith, Bobby Wagner
Leader: Who do you feel should be the NFL player of the year?
DJ: Offensive player of the year is Saquon Barkley, Defensive play of the year Patrick surtain
Leader: What type of defense do you like to play in?
DJ: Any defense that Consistently stops the offense and that you can make a lot of plays in.
Leader: What are the strengths of the way you play and what was better about your game this season that helped you become a better player?
DJ: I’m very smart. I can play sideline to sideline. I can tackle at a high-level and I’m another coach on the field.

DJ: Patrick Mahomes & Lamar Jackson

DJ: Philadelphia Eagles

DJ: someone who loves the game of football!!!!
