What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2025 NFL Draft

  • My ability to get to the passer along with my knowledge for the game. My dad and brother all played/play the game at a high level. Along with being a great human being.

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

  • That Trey Laing is a hardworking dude, someone who comes in ready to work day in & out. Someone who loves playing football and enjoys being around like-minded people.

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

  • I would donate to some cause involving 3rd world countries. As a first generation American citizen on my father’s side, I’ve seen a lot. My dad being born in Jamaica and hearing the struggles him and his family went through would be my #1 thing to change.

Who was your role model?

  • My dad was my role model growing up. My dad being my coach made things full circle. He always told me “I want you to do better than me son”. I just want to make my dad proud.

Who is your favorite NFL team?

  • Didn’t have a favorite team growing up, but I watch teams because of players. Such as Von Miller with Broncos or Tom Brady with the Patriots.

Who is the most underrated teammate at your school?

  • Peyton Price, defensive tackle from my school who plays with a chip on their shoulder.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

  • People who don’t take advantage of opportunities.

Who is your favorite teacher ever?

  • My favorite teacher is kind of odd. My favorite teacher isn’t my favorite because of the good things she’s did. Instead of the things she told me that would forever be drilled in my head. She told me “I’d never be a college athlete and to pick something more realistic”. Her name was Dawn Smith at Fairview Middle School.

Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

  • Hardest moment of my life I had to overcome was tearing my ACL at Indiana University and having to sit and watch guys play.

If you could have any franchise restaurant in your house what would it be?

  • Mine would have to be McDonald’s. McDonald’s consistency throughout these years is amazing.

What is your favorite snack food?

  • Favorite snack food of all time would have to be Little Debbie Cakes.

What is your degree in?

  • I obtained a Sociology degree from Southern University.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

  • One person I’d like to have a dinner with is Von Miller, learning from the goat himself. Seeing what his daily schedule is day in & day out. Learning new techniques and new ways to take advantage of games how he does. Another would have to be Bob Marley, my father side of my family is Jamaican. Learning the Jamaican culture learning about the struggles and hardships he endured to be at the top of his game. Last one would have to be my grandmother. She’s passed away my freshman year of college. Being able to just talk to her again and gain her wisdom one last time would be awesome for me.

What is your biggest weakness?

  • My biggest weakness is something I learned thru the hardest year of my life. How the mind will play tricks on you. Self talk, positive affirmations to yourself. Being able to be 100% mentally all the time. Something I still struggle with but I am getting better.
