Pittman’s Pocket: Norfolk State Secures First Commitment Under Head Coach Michael Vick
Norfolk State Head Coach Michael Vick has officially secured his first verbal commitment since taking the helm of the Spartans’ football program. Defensive lineman Delonta Butler, a 6’4”, 315-pound force from Frostburg State, has pledged to join Norfolk State. Known for his raw but effective play, Butler brings a unique blend of size, power, and explosiveness to the Spartans’ defensive front.
Butler, a graduate transfer from Warsaw, Virginia, and an alumnus of Rappahannock High School, aims to bolster Norfolk State’s defensive line with his ability to deliver impactful plays in short bursts. His gritty style and physical presence are expected to make the Spartans’ defense more aggressive and formidable.
In addition to Butler, University of San Antonio defensive lineman Nick Booker-Brown is also reportedly in discussions with Norfolk State, further highlighting Coach Vick’s commitment to building a strong and dynamic defensive unit.
This marks an exciting start for Coach Vick and the Spartans as they set their sights on revitalizing the program. Congratulations to Coach Vick on securing this key addition, and welcome to the Norfolk State family, Delonta Butler!
