What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

When I was in 7th grade my basketball coach told me he wouldn’t start me in 8th grade if I didn’t try football out.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My favorite moments are winning a SWAC Championship and a conference championship in JUCO.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I feel as if I’m an underdog and I’m trying to make it to the NFL. Also by the end of this season be an All-American.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

If I could hang out with any player it would be Trent Williams he’s the best tackle we’ve had the last decade I feel like I could learn an immense amount of knowledge from him.

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

My mom and my father inspire me the most seeing the way that they worked hard to make sure me and my sister had the things we needed.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

My favorite offense I’ve played in was air raid because it was high tempo and were able to put a lot of points on the board.

What should we know about Kirk Ford the person?

I’m resilient, I’ve overcome a lot when I was 17 I contracted a disease from my knee surgery that caused me to be quarantined by the CDC for months, they told me I wouldn’t play football again and here I am years later still playing at a high level. I refuse to be denied!

What stands out about your film the most?

I’m a people mover that’s what makes me different and it’s rare I get beat I’ve given up two sacks in my 4 years at Jackson State. I’m the only offensive lineman I’ve seen play all 5 spots in one season. This year one game I started at left tackle, played right guard, and ended at left guard.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I handle challenges on and off the field head-on I feel like I’m blessed to be doing what I’m doing so whatever happens I know that God has done it for a reason.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They would get a player who plays with a chip on his shoulder everyone’s always tried to tell me what I can’t do and I refuse to be denied.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love the camaraderie that football brings to the table it’s hard to win championships on teams that don’t have a good bond and have family values when that happens everyone is playing for the wrong reasons. The most fun I’ve had has been in player-led teams where we all get along that’s my favorite part about football all the memories you make with the guys good and bad.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

12. The most underrated player I played with is Karl Reynolds he played wide receiver at HCU he was a dog and heavily underrated. He ran crisp routes and dominated everyone he played.
