Talk about your experience as a student. What is your major/minor? Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?
I Majored in Exercise and Sports Science – Fitness Track, exploring positions of Strength and Conditioning coaching and Interning at a local training center called Three River Performance where I coached a variety of highschool athletes in strength and speed training. With that I also worked with groups of people and individuals whose strength goals differed. I Minored in Nutrition because it is an interest of mine. Both my major and minor helped me become a better athlete and coach as I gained a deeper understanding in these fields.
What do you think your teammates would say is your best quality?
Staying calm and focused when things were going good or bad.
What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?
I was a leader on our team by being a playmaker and having the ability to stay relaxed. We ran a spread offense with a good amount of pre snap motion, allowing me to run a variety of routes from different locations on the field. Specifically, I felt most confident in running unders or swings to get the ball in space, or running deep routes to have the time to go up and make plays on the ball.
Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?
Egon Hein a Defensive Back for the 2023 UW-Whitewater team, he was physical and had great technique. He was also a good sport and a respectable player to go against.
Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?
My QB from 2023 Keyser Helterbrand, he had a dual threat ability allowing him to extend plays with his feet and still be able to throw the ball far and accurately.
Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.
In fall of 2019, which was my first year playing college football, my season ended quickly as I injured my hip and needed surgery. This injury had me questioning if football was for me. I spent a large amount of time rehabbing to get ready for our 2020 season which was ultimately cancelled due to covid. It was a struggle not being able to play a football game for almost two years, but after a lot of hard work and dedication I was glad to see it pay off.
If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?
I played basketball and baseball in high school, but I would have to say I would want to play tennis.
What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement so far?
Making it to playoffs in each of my 4 years, although we didn’t make it all the way it was awesome to have a chance.
Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career. Playing at Whitewater in 2023 in front of over 20,000 fans, and making a long catch for a touchdown on a scramble to get the ball rolling for our offense.
Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?
Adam Theilen is someone I look up to, him being from Minnesota and playing college ball at a smaller level. He is someone that I strive to work as hard as.
Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?
I like to keep it calm and listen to a variety of chill music, sometimes I will even listen to some classical music like Beethoven.
What is your favorite comfort food?
Smoothies
Do you have a favorite movie, TV show or actor?
Game of Thrones
What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?
I like to get outside. I go hiking, hang out at the beach, fish, and play random sports like hackysack, frisbee golf, and tennis.
Why do you play football? Who or what motivates you the most?
I love the game, nothing beats putting in a full week of practice to go out and prove yourself in a game where you get a limited amount of opportunities.
