Pop Warner football player dies after collapsing during practice
A fourteen-year-old pop warner football player is dead after collapsing during practice.
According to a Connecticut news outlet, Jahkye Gayle a member of the Bloomfield Junior Warhawks collapsed during a non-contact warmup drill at practice on this past Wednesday.
Hundreds of community members, including the 14-year-old’s teammates, friends and family, gathered on the football field Saturday night to honor the young football star.
His coaches said Jahkye was a talented player who loved to joke around with everyone.
He was one of the longest tenured players on the youth football program and was expected to earn the lifetime achievement award at this year’s banquet.
Please keep the young man’s friends, family and teammates in your prayers.
A Go Fund Me was created to help raise money for the funeral expenses.
