PacMan Jones arrested for assault on a police officer after Tyson/Paul fight
Former NFL player Pacman Jones, known for his 13-season career that included a stint with the Dallas Cowboys, found himself in hot water during a visit to Dallas. He was in town to attend the much-anticipated Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight but ended the night with an arrest.
According to a report by The Athletic’s Lauren Merola, Jones was taken into custody early Saturday morning after an incident at the Live! by Loews hotel, near AT&T Stadium. He was charged with assault on a peace officer, public intoxication, resisting arrest, and evading detention.
The trouble reportedly began at the hotel bar, where Jones was involved in a dispute. Arlington police responded to the scene and found Jones already separated from the others involved. Despite warnings to stay away, he allegedly continued to confront those he had been arguing with.
When an officer tried to intervene and de-escalate the situation, Jones allegedly struck the officer on her arm during a renewed altercation. As the officer attempted to arrest him, Jones managed to pull away and began walking off. Backup officers soon arrived, and Jones was ultimately subdued and taken to the Arlington City Jail.
The incident adds another chapter to the turbulent post-NFL life of the former cornerback.
