HBCU True Freshman All-American Consideration Heating Up for 2024-2025 Season
As the 2024-2025 season progresses, the spotlight is turning toward the top true freshmen in HBCU football, with All-American selection consideration now underway. This marks the second year for Pittman’s Pocket HBCU True Freshman All-Americans, presented by NFL Draft Diamonds and Pittman’s Pocket LLC.
Several standout players have already made strong cases for recognition. Blake Davis, a cornerback for Grambling State, has been phenomenal under Coach Joseph’s guidance, showcasing elite defensive skills. At Jackson State, Travis Terrell Jr. has been electrifying, recording five touchdowns in his freshman campaign and proving to be a dynamic athlete for the Tigers.
Jamarie Hostzclaw of Alabama State has exceeded expectations, earning high praise from Head Coach Eddie Robinson Jr. Meanwhile, in the Ohio Valley Conference, Sanders Ellis of Tennessee State has turned heads with his impressive performances, solidifying his reputation as a rising star.
Another name to watch is DeQuadrian Welch from Alabama A&M. The young talent has excelled in Coach Connell Maynor’s offense, playing a pivotal role in the team’s success.
So far, 60 freshmen have been named to the All-American list, with a special edition highlighting the top freshmen scheduled for a later date.
