Drake Maye vs Caleb Williams preview, Expectations for newly signed Defensive End Yannick Ngakoue

Written by Karver Jordan

It is the battle between the first overall pick in Caleb Williams vs the third overall pick in Drake Maye, both quarterbacks are talented and bring good traits to their teams. Both fan bases are looking forward to watching the future of the NFL battling it out on Sunday afternoon, The 2-7 New England Patriots will face off against the 4-4 Chicago Bears at 1:00 PM EST on FOX.

Caleb Williams Expectations

Williams coming off a mediocre game vs the Arizona Cardinals, Williams only completed 22 of his 41 passes for 217 yards. The first overall pick was very inconsistent in this game and the Bears offense only produced three field goals, no touchdowns. Chicago lost 29 – 9 to Arizona. The New England Patriots defense will need to make the pocket uncomfortable for the young signal caller in Chicago if the team has hopes to win. Caleb Williams will make big plays from time to time, Jerod Mayo’s goal has to be to slow down those plays.

Drake Maye Expectations

Drake Maye is coming off a pretty solid game vs the Tennessee Titans, Maye completed 29 of his 41 passes for 206 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Maye had eight carries for 95 yards, When was the last time a New England Patriots Quarterback rushed for 95 yards? Maye brings mobility to the Patriots offense, he did have a fumble in the game when trying to make a play. The turnovers will need to be a little bit more limited however, the young signal caller is showing good traits for the Patriots. Expect a good game vs the Chicago Bears, Drake Maye is going to have to get the job done on the ground and through the air.

Yannick Ngakoue status vs Bears: OUT

On Friday afternoon the New England Patriots signed veteran defensive end Yannick Ngakoue off of waivers, the Baltimore Ravens released Ngakoue on Wednesday with hopes that he would clear waivers and end back up on the teams practice squad. The 29-year old Defensive end has recorded five total tackles, and 1.5 sacks so far this season in a limited role with the Baltimore Ravens. The New England Patriots announced on Saturday Afternoon Yannick Ngakoue will be OUT for the game vs the Bears, Expect to see the veteran defensive end in the teams matchup against the Los Angeles Rams (November 17th).
