Division 3 Football Matchups to Watch Week 5

Hello Justin Berendzen, here with my top 5 Division 3 Football matchups of week October 4th-5th 2024 and here I highlight the players who are playing in these matchups looking to make a difference in the games.

1. Endicott College at Hardin Simmons University

Should be a good matchup between 2 top ten teams coming in. The Hardin-Simmons offense has junior running back Noah Garcia who has 254 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns this season. Defensively for Endicott they have senior defensive lineman Hector Johnson who has 21 tackles, 7 TFLs and 3 sacks in 2024. The Gulls offense has Adam Goodfellow junior wide receiver who has 305 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in this 2024 season. The Cowboys defense has junior safety Harrison Foster who has 23 tackles, 2 TFLs and 1 interception this season.

2.University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

One of two very interesting matchups between Wisconsin teams in week 5. Sophomore running back Brian Stanton has 269 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown in 2024 for the Warhawks. The Titans defense has junior defensive back Ben Wellhoefer who has 17 tackles, 2 PBUs and 1 interception this season. Offensively for Oshkosh they have Trae Tetzlaff who has 264 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown this year. For the Whitewater defense they have senior defensive back Kyle Koelblinger who has 13 tackles, 2 TFLs, and 2 PBUs in 2024.

3.University of Wisconsin-Platteville at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

Another very interesting matchup in Wisconsin. The Eagles are led by senior wide receiver Jack Studer who has 438 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns in 2024. Defensively for the Pioneers they have sophomore defensive back Harrison Meyer who has 20 tackles, 7 PBUs and 1 interception this season. Platteville’s offense has sophomore running back Zackary Bothun who has 352 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns this year. Sophomore defensive back Trent Mullen has 8 tackles and 3 PBUs for the La Crosse defense this season.

4.North Central College at Wheaton College

These 2 conference foes are at it again. Wheaton’s offense is led by senior wide receiver Ben Bonga who has 324 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in 2024. Defensively for the Cardinals they have grad defensive back Zack Orr who has 13 tackles, 2 TFLs, 2 PBUs and 1 interception this year. The North Central offense has senior running back Joe Sacco who has 309 rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns this season. Senior defensive lineman Isaac Parrish has 18 tackles, 4 1/2 TFLs and 3 1/2 sacks in the 2024 season.

5.Ohio Northern University at Marietta College 

This OAC matchup has caught my eyes for this upcoming weekend. The Pioneers offense is led by senior wide receiver Dawson Snyder who has 271 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns this season. Ohio Northern’s defense has senior defensive back Dalton Tjong who has 26 tackles, 4 PBUS and 1 interception in 2024. The Polar Bears offense has sophomore running back Jordan Pettaway who has 426 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns this year. Defensively for Marietta they have senior Wheaton defensive lineman Chance Knight who has 14 tackles, 7 1/2 TFLs and 7 sack this season.
