Top Division 2 Football Matchups Week 7
Hello! Justin Berendzen, from NFL Draft Diamonds bringing you the Division two matchups for week 7 that I feel should be competitive and worth watching.
Northwest Missouri State University at University of Central Oklahoma
Decent MIAA matchup here. The Bronchos offense has junior wide receiver Terrill Davis who has 649 receiving yards and 8 touchdown receptions this year to date. Defensively for Northwest Missouri State they have junior linebacker Carter Edwards who has 36 tackles, 6 1/2 TFLs, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions this season. The Bearcats have a good offensive line led by tackle Derec Weyer who has started 2 seasons worth of games at right tackle leading up to this season and is a force to be reckoned with for any defense going up against him leading the way for junior running back Tank Young who has 318 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns in this season to this point. Dalton Hurd sophomore defensive back has 14 tackles and 4 PBUs this year to date for Central Oklahoma.
Ashland University at University of Findlay
The Eagles taking on the Oilers in this one. Cam Childers grad wide receiver for Findlay has 356 receiving yards and 3 touchdown receptions this season. Defensively for the Eagles they have senior safety Isaiah Clark who has 23 tackles, 4 TFLs and 4 PBUs in the year so far. Ashland’s offense has redshirt junior wide receiver Dru Johnson who has 213 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown to date this year. For the Oilers defense they have junior defensive back Christion Stokes who has 40 tackles, 4 TFLs, 4 PBUs and 3 interceptions this season so far.
Davenport University at Michigan Technological University
Good battle of two division two teams in Michigan. The Michigan Tech offense is led by junior wide receiver Ethan Champney who has 477 receiving yards and 4 touchdown receptions this season to date. For the Panthers defense they have grad defensive back Cameren Grodhaus who has 39 tackles, 3 PBUs and 2 interceptions in the year. Davenport’s offense has senior wide receiver Preston Smith who has 255 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns this season. The Huskies defense has senior defensive back Hunter Buechel who has 37 tackles, 9 1/2 TFLS, 5 PBUs and 3 sacks in all of the 2024 games played to this point.
Bentley University at Assumption University
Falcons at the Greyhounds in this one in a NE10 matchup. The Greyhound’s defense is led by junior linebacker Owen Fitzgerald who has 31 tackles, 5 1/2 TFLs and 3 1/2 sacks this season. Bentley’s offense is led by senior wide receiver Rashon Bradford who has 500 receiving yards and 6 receiving touchdowns in the year. Defensively for the Falcons they have grad linebacker Nick Pucillo who has 41 tackles, 4 1/2 TFLs and 2 interceptions in 2024 games so far. Assumption’s offense has sophomore running back Kameron Robbins who has 331 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns this season.
Texas A&M University-Kingsville at Angelo State University
Good recent history from these two teams even though the 2024 season hasn’t been as good to either team. Kel Williams redshirt junior wide receiver leads the way for the Rams offense with 222 receiving yards and 1 touchdown reception this year and they have one of the best offensive linemen in the conference redshirt junior Noah Plsek. The Javelinas defense has redshirt junior defensive end Demarcus Hendricks who has 6 1/2 TFLs and 4 sacks this season. Offensively for Kingsville they have redshirt senior running back Roger Hagan who has 511 rushing yards, and 5 touchdown rushes this season to this point. For Angelo State’s defense they have redshirt junior cornerback Andrew Pitts who has 16 tackles and 4 PBUs and 3 interceptions this year.
