Player Summary:
5th YR SR, with 23 GS in 32 GP including 12 GS in 2023. The offensive scheme he plays in at Stanford is high-tempo, with heavy RPO and passing. He has very good height and good weight with a thick, muscular build and appears to have slightly longer legs than his torso which can create a higher center of gravity. His overall athletic ability is adequate, with good flexibility and solid lateral movements and balance; adequate speed, agility, COD, and quickness. Solid overall pass blocker using good pad level, a wide base, and good flexibility for hip sink to provide a good anchor with good footwork to stay in position on bull rushes; occasionally has trouble getting lower pad level with smaller defenders. Very good at keeping hands up to prepare for unexpected defenders and uses good arm length to get hands on defenders first a majority of the time. Solid awareness to identify blitzes and stunts, but can have tunnel vision at times towards his primary blocking assignment and look at one side of the line too long, causing him to have delayed reactions. DL with good burst off the line and more technical hand-fighting abilities are able to get him off balance and use arm chops and swim moves to get around him and apply pressure to the QB. When defenders can get past him, he has a solid ability to recover and stay with them to push them off their QB pursuit. Good overall run blocker using good pad level, hand placement and footwork to steer and redirect defenders to open running lanes. Good overall lower body strength to neutralize and drive on most defenders. His adequate athletic ability limits his ability to get to the 2nd level quickly and is often out of position to apply blocks on the outside or downfield, but he does have good awareness and timing to move off his 1st block and be in position on secondary blocks in shorter spaces. He does not snap to the QB under center often, but when he does he has very good execution and shows good explosiveness off the ball in these normally short-yardage situations. He displays good competitiveness and plays through the whistle routinely, but can lose awareness of the QBs location on extended plays at times.
Scheme Fit:
Balanced, Gap Blocking
Power Statement:
Levi Rogers has very good size and length for an IOL at the next level. He has solid pass-blocking using good arm length to get hands on defenders first and the ability to apply a good anchor. If he can improve on his first-step quickness and hand-fighting techniques this will help his overall pass blocking. He has good overall run-blocking using good pad level and technique to steer defenders away from running lanes and drive defenders back. If he can improve his athletic ability, he will be able to get to secondary blocks quicker and be more effective blocking at the 2nd level.
