Player Summary:
Horn transferred from FLSO at the end of 2022. He became a starter for COUN in 2023 as a slot WR who can play outside as an X or Z. He is not a statuesque WR, hence why he plays in the slot. Lacks the physical ability to overpower DB’s. His height and weight are below the NFL average for any position of a WR. Has elite speed. Possesses above-average athleticism able to get himself open without the elite technique of a WR. Makes up for it with elite speed from the beginning to the end of the route. He can run the route tree effectively. Horn is explosive coming off the LOS and has a solid stem in route progression. He is good in terms of YAC and able to display good elusiveness downfield against defenders. Tends to drop passes that are moderate to easy in measure of difficulty. At times, shows aloofness during the play when a pass is not thrown at him looks like he is just kind of out there in space. At times, the effort can be questionable being a decoy or when the ball is distributed on the opposite of the LOS. When balls are thrown his way, he gives solid effort, urgency, and aggression when attempting to make the catch. Decent vision when locating the ball in the air able to track it and make necessary adjustments when needed. Has a solid COD, particularly after a catch in the open field eluding able tackling defenders and gaining more YAC.
Scheme Fit:
Pro Style, West Coast
Power Statement:
Below-average sized slot WR who showcases the ability to run a versatile route tree. Highly explosive player with excellent speed who can take the top-off defensive coverages.
