Player Summary:
A 4th YR SR and 2 yr full-time starter at OC in the wide zone pro style offense of GATC. Franklin possesses good height, good weight and very good speed with a powerful NFL frame. Strong frame allows him to generate plenty of torque with compact motion. Broad shouldered, barrel chested, developed center that passes the eyeball test. A high motor finisher in the pass/run game that plays with nasty intentions, but also under control. Smart, tough center that has excellent eyes. Paved the way for a GATC offense to lead the ACC in rushing, and rank 12th nationally. Above-average burst at the POA with above average leverage and foot drive. Down blocking on power runs, uses good play strength to neutralize IDL. In pass pro, has a wide base with excellent balance and bend as he keeps his feet moving. Has great initial quickness, punch, unlocks hips and drives with good second effort. His very good balance allows him to stay upright when blocking and maintain footing while in pass pro and run blocking, good 2nd level blocker.
Scheme Fit:
OC in zone scheme pro style offense.
Power Statement:
Intelligent, physical, athletic player who uses his good lateral movement and brute strength to manipulate IDL and LB’s to keep offense on schedule. Good in pass pro and run game, with ability to have continued growth in a variety of schemes. High football IQ will lead to sustained success and consistency in a wide variety of roles.
