Player Summary:
Senior. Starts at RT. Three-year contributor, entering his third season as a starter. Very athletically gifted young man; has a tall and athletic frame that you can’t coach and one NFL teams will likely add weight to. Above average as a run blocker, average in pass protection, flaws can be fixed with NFL-level coaching. As a run blocker he is above average. Has a quick first step, displays above-average strike timing and hand placement. Takes good angles to the second level and has shown he can fire forward off the ball. Can cover two defenders just due to his sheer size. Good finisher who seldom loafs. Has some punch with his hands and runs his feet on contact. Good blocking DLs one-on-one but struggles to latch onto second-level linebackers and drive them away from the ball. In pass protection, he is average. Hard to get around with his frame. Plays with a wide base, shows decent ability to mirror in pass pro, slide, and keep defenders between his feet. Does a good job working with TEs to widen out and create a clean pocket. Balance in both phases of the game can be up and down. Because of his elongated frame, will overextend and bend at the waist, and needs to work on playing with better posture and/or developing core strength to sit on a stool. Good playing experience. Has a lot of upside and could be a steal if he develops under the right coach.
Scheme Fit:
OT.
Power Statement:
Ozzy is an above-average run blocker and average in pass protection. His size and frame can’t be taught. If he develops better posture and improves in pass protection, he could develop into a high-quality pro.
