Player Summary:
Senior. RB starter. Transferred from North Carolina A&T last season. Decent all-around RB who also returns kicks. Used in motion to WR at times. Average RB, above-average hands in passing game, average in pass protection. As a RB, he is average. Better inside runner than outside runner, decisive and one-cut back who wastes little time getting vertical, which can also be a downside because he lacks vision and patience to follow blocks. Showed some ability to make defenders miss but is mostly a straight-line ball carrier with marginal change-of-direction. Very effective short-yardage back including around the goal line. Runs at a low pad level and consistently finishes forward, displays ability to run through contact, and makes most of the opportunities he does have. In pass protection, he is average. Showed v. VAUN that he can square up and hit, can chip and get upfield. As a receiver he is above-average. Caught everything thrown to him in the games viewed and showed he is capable when used in that phase of the offense. Key issue in all areas is lack of speed and burst. Doesn’t have any wiggle. Big runs like the VAUN touchdown are easily blocked for him. Lacks an extra gear to break away and can be caught from behind. Has a good frame with thick calves and developed legs, should add bulk in an NFL weight program.
Scheme Fit:
RB
Power Statement:
Brayshul is an average running back who is better as an inside runner. He also displays strengths in pass protection and is effective in short yardage. He needs to develop some burst and speed, and show he can take the ball to the house in order to add value as an NFL prospect.
