2025 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Ty Wise, LB, Miami-Ohio

- Name: Ty Wise
- Position, College: LB – Miami-OH
- Games Watched: OHTO, FLMI, OHCI
Senior. Transferred from Indiana. Mike LB in 4-3 is college fit. Good size, strength and frame – saw him in high school and has added weight as a college prospect, very well put-together body. Above average in pass coverage, above average rusher when used, and average run defender. In pass coverage he is above average. Good at covering and carrying routes over the MOF. Would like to see him show ball skills but did a good job of covering in space, QB didn’t throw in his direction. As a pass rusher he is above average. Has a tough time getting through the LOS as an inside LB but is an effective edge rusher when aligning as an OLB, displays quickness to turn the corner, and takes good angles to the pocket.
As a run defender he is average. Has good instincts and pursuit, closes on ballcarriers, good at chasing down runners in the open field. Fills gaps, allows other players to clean up, can stick his nose in a pile, good lateral pursuit and mover. More of a drag-down tackler, doesn’t have any thump to him. Inconsistent with taking good angles to ballcarriers. Had a tougher time shedding blocks v. interior lineman. Very high-character player – every coach I’ve talked with praises his intangibles, leadership, and work ethic.
