Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce is not happy with this quarterback competition
The Las Vegas Raiders really wanted to draft Jayden Daniels a quarterback in the NFL Draft who had a strong relationship with Antonio Pierce from his days at Arizona State.
Unfortunately, that did not happen, and now the Raiders are stuck with Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew. While Minshew has proven to be a solid veteran quarterback, Antonio Pierce made a comment that neither quarterback has proven he wants to be the guy.
“I’d like to see — again, I’m going to keep saying it — somebody to just take it and say, ‘I’m the guy, AP,'” Pierce told reporters who asked about a quarterback update on Tuesday. “Make it clear and evident, and then we’ll make that decision at that point.”
That makes it sound like the Raiders do not even have a guy on the roster who is committed to winning the starting spot. The Raiders need to find a veteran quarterback if they are not happy.
Maybe they will make a trade for a quarterback. I am not sure who is better at this point, but if I was the Raiders I would be calling the Titans to try to pull away Malik Willis. I feel he can be great with a good offensive coach.
