It is not very often you see a 4-star prospect retire, but Kelton Smith the Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman has decided he is going to medically retire from football.
Smith is a former 4-star recruit out of Carver Columbus High School in Columbus, Georgia. He was a high-school All-American and ranked as the 10th best interior lineman in the country. While he never cracked the lineup he redshirted last year for the Bulldogs.
This is the second football player on the Bulldogs offense that has medically retired. Just a few months ago Pearce Spurlin retired. Spurlin was a tight end prospect who also retired after a heart condition was discovered.
It is an unfortunate situation for both the Bulldogs and the players that they will have to push into the new season this year without two members of their team due to medical issues.
Please keep the young men in your prayers.
