Former NFL tight end signs contract with Professional Basketball Team after Austin Rivers comment

Austin Rivers a former NBA basketball player took a shot at NFL players earlier this week saying he could name 30 NBA players that could play in the NFL right now. He then went on to say you cannot take 30 NFL players and put them in the NBA.
“I can take 30 players right now from the NBA and throw them in the NFL,” Rivers said. “You cannot take 30 NFL players and put them in the NBA.”
Well, the funny thing is a couple of days after Rivers commented, a former NFL tight end signed a contract to play overseas with a professional basketball team.
Devin Funchess becomes the first NFL player to sign a professional basketball contract. He signed a contract with the Caribbean Storm Llaneros. The team is part of the Professional Colombia Basketball League (Baloncesto Profesional Colombiano) and signed Funchess to a deal for their 28-game season.
This is a start! It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
