Buffalo Bills adding Odell Beckham Jr. post June 1st makes a lot of sense

Are Buffalo Bills still in the running for star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.?
Buffalo Bills adding Odell Beckham Jr. post June 1st makes a lot of sense

The Buffalo Bills only selected one wide receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft after trading Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. As a Bills fan, I thought that the Bills would draft a wide receiver in round 1 before they traded away Diggs, but after trading him away they decided it was best to only draft one player. Is that because they have another person in mind?

Could the Bills be in on a veteran free agent wide receiver?

Brandon Beane in his press conference said his cap is his cap, if you are expecting a big-time trade for a veteran that is not going to happen. There is no way they can make it happen with 2 million available in cap space.

Well, the Buffalo Bills will get a nice chunk of money come June 1st. On June 1st the Bills will get a 10 million dollars bonus from the Tre’Davious White release, which could open the door for the Bills to sign a veteran.

Most veterans hate minicamp anyway, so could this be something the Bills have already discussed? There is a huge connection to Odell Beckham Jr. on the Bills staff.

Adam Henry the Bills wide receivers coach has a very good relationship with OBJ. As a matter of fact, Adam Henry was the LSU passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach when OBJ was on the Tigers. Henry would eventually get a job in New York for the Giants and coach Odell there as well as in Cleveland. Henry has coached Odell Beckham Jr. for several years, and I am sure he has a great relationship with him.

So could Odell end up in Buffalo again with Adam Henry? It makes sense. Henry was hired last year by the Bills as their wide outs coach. With the Bills only selecting Keon Coleman and adding another wide out after the draft in Quintez Cephus, it would not surprise me if the Bills have talked to Odell.

Could Josh Allen’s starting wide out be Curtis Samuel, Keon Coleman, Odell Beckham Jr., Khalil Shakir and Mack Hollins? Allow Quintez Cephus, Justin Shorter, Bryan Thompson, Andy Isabella, Tyrell Shavers, Xavier Johnson, Lawrence Keys III and KJ Hamler fight for the last two spots.

I mean the Bills could have a better room than they did last year. Four of five of their starters from last year are gone, so it will be interesting to see what happens. Stay tuned…..
