EA Sports’ college football franchise will return this summer according to Dov Kleiman on Twitter.

After the franchise was discontinued over a decade ago amid ongoing lawsuits over whether college athletes should be paid for their names and likenesses, it is coming back. According to the post, the expected released day is set for July 19th.

The game will be built off the engine EA uses to build the Madden franchise, though the new game will include unique assets, in addition to unique playbooks, mascots and traditions tied to each university.

Features from previous EA Sports college football titles are expected to be included, including the “Dynasty” and “Road To Glory,” allowing users to take control of customized coaches and players, respectively, while an “Ultimate Team” mode, allowing users to create teams of former athletes, is also expected.

Over 1.5 million copies of EA’s last college football game “NCAA Football ‘14,” sold in the five years after its release in 2013, according to ESPN. So I would expect the number to be high!
