Merril Hoge says UNC Quarterback Drake Maye will get a GM fired for selecting him
Many think Drake Maye will be a big time prospect, but there are several who have questions about the UNC quarterback.
We think that Caleb Williams will be selected first overall and Jayden Daniels is likely the number 2 selection for the Commanders, but who will take Drake Maye. Many think the Patriots will take him at three but there is one NFL analyst who is saying that if a GM selects him early they could be unemployed soon.
Former ESPN analyst and NFL fullback Merril Hoge has a very strong take on Maye.
Via AthlonSports.com, Hoge recently said the Maye could cost whoever drafts him their job.
“Drake Maye is the kind of player that will get you fired,” Hoge said in an interview on WCCO radio. “Especially if you draft him in the top five or top three, he’s going to get you fired.”
That is a pretty harsh take, but he is not the only one that is low on Maye. Chris Simms said recently that Maye is the sixth best quarterback in the draft, OUCH…..
