Rumors about Brandon Aiyuk demanding a trade are shut down by his agent
Brandon Aiyuk recently unfollowed the San Francisco 49ers on Instagram, and everyone is assuming the star wide receiver could be gone.
Well, reports came out from John Frascella (No Clue Who He Is), but he said that Aiyuk requested a trade from the Niners, and the agent of Aiyuk quickly responded. Ryan Williams told Frascella that the rumors were false and he needed better sources.
Unfollowing a team while looking for a new deal is practically a cliché in the NFL at this point. It’s meant to send a message that the player is ready to move on from the team if it isn’t willing to pay him and ultimately doesn’t mean much.
Aiyuk is on his fifth-year option year and will get paid by someone. He is looking to be paid and I cannot blame him. At this point, however, it will be interesting to see if the Niners are willing to move on from him. At this point, I do not see that happening.
