Arena Football Player was signed by the New Orleans Saints two hours before kickoff

Desmond Bland was a former 4-star offensive lineman from Rivals.com and 3-star rankings from 247 Sports and ESPN.com following his sophomore season at Arizona Western. The former JUCO star lineman is a big boy with a mean streak.
The 6’4, 300-pound center played at West Florida before joining the Arena Football League. He was playing for Southwest Kansas Storm.
Bland played for San Diego Strike Force of the Indoor Football League in the past as well.
The crazy thing is today, 2 hours before their kickoff with Salina Liberty, Desmond received a call from the New Orleans Saints and was signed to a contract offer as a UDFA. You do not hear this happening all the time. You have to love it! Congrats Desmond.
