Russell Wilson is a Great Fit for Pittsburgh

Former Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has found a new home in Pittsburgh, and the Steelers are hoping to see the superstar quarterback that he once was.

Wilson signed on with Pittsburgh for the cheap price of only 1.2 million dollars in 2024. A safe price to pay for a passer like Wilson. During his time in Denver, many would argue that Wilson’s character and persona may have been dilated due to head coach Sean Payton. I believe Mike Tomlin is comfortable enough in his own skin to allow Russell to be the player, and character that he always has been.

During his days in Seattle, Wilson was supported by a strong run game and elite defense for most of his career. In Pittsburgh, it feels similar to the support he had in Seattle. With Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren, the Steelers run game is comfortable enough to support the style of play Wilson is used to. Pairing him up with one of the best defenses in the league also doesn’t hurt at all.

With the supporting cast, and seemingly more characterized head coach, to me it seems as if the Pittsburgh Steelers are very “Russell Wilson friendly”.
