What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I’ve been playing football since I was six years old. My mother and I drove past a little league team when I was four and I asked to play but she made me wait. And when I turned six I reminded her that she said I could play when I was big enough.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Winning two state championships in high school and winning the celebration bowl my senior year of college. I also caught the game winning interception of the celebration bowl.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

To achieve my childhood dream of making it into the NFL, winning a super bowl, and God willing receive a gold jacket.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

The football players I would want to hang out with are Ray Lewis and Adrian Peterson. Because they were my favorite players growing up and I loved how hard they played the game.

Which one of your family members inspire you the most and why?

My mother and papa. My mother because she has overcome almost every obstacle known to man and raised me and brothers the best she could by herself. My grandfather because he turned his life around and poured everything he had into his family and raised me to be the man I am today with the help of my uncle marcus.

What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?

My favorite defensive scheme is a 4-3, 4-2-5 over front. It’s a gap scheme defense and I think it simplifies the game & allows the defense as a whole to move faster because you know your job. As far as a coverage I like them all. Quarters, cover 3, man… etc.

What should we know about Isaiah Major the person?

I was born and raised in Oklahoma City. I didn’t have much growing up but my family made due. I went D2 out of high school, to juco, then FAMU. My journey has not been easy but I will do whatever it takes to achieve my dreams regardless of the circumstances.

What stands out about your film the most?

I’m fast and move from sideline to sideline. Explosive at the point of contact. Very physical with sharp iq and instincts.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I just breathe and relax, tell myself I’m the eye of the storm and you can weather anything.

What would a team get in a player like you?

A team would get what they’re looking for and more. I’m going to put my heart into whatever organization I go to because that’s who I am day in and day out. Every practice, every play of a game. Most of all of a good man.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

The thing I love most about the game of football is the competition. There’s nothing like it anywhere in any sport activity. You can’t mimic/ simulate an organized football game. It’s the art of war and I love it.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

The most underrated player I’ve played with is Kuma Scalan. We played together in juco. We both worked ourselves until we couldn’t and would work some more but he didn’t have the “body type” coming out of juco and unfortunately went D2 which is where his career ended. He was a phenomenal player and a better man.
