Six Biggest Winners of Day One of the NFL Scouting Combine

Day One of workouts is in the books and we have had some big time winners who helped make money!
I wanted to break down six players who did a great job in Indianapolis after the first day of the NFL Scouting Combine.
- Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State – Fiske the former MAC defensive lineman who transferred to Florida State stole the show. He looked like a freak in his forty as well as his positional drills. Fiske made a lot of money and solidified himself as a top 100 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He finished with a 4.78 forty which is insane for a player over 300 pounds.
- Byron Murphy II, DL, Texas – Byron Murphy is a specimen, the guy ran a 4.87 forty yard dash and had a 1.69 ten yard split. While he came in at 6 foot and change, and 297, he still earned a lot of money.
- Chop Robinson, DE, Penn State – Chop Robinson ran a 4.48 forty and had a 10’8 broad jump with a 1.54 10-yard split. Chop Robinson could have easily solidified himself as a first round pick. He is a freak of an athlete.
- Jared Verse, DE, Florida State – I still think Jared Verse is the best pass rusher in the NFL Draft. He ran a 4.58 forty yards dash, had a 35 inch vertical and hit a 10’7 inch broad jump. Verse is a top edge defender.
- Payton Wilson, LB, North Carolina State – Wilson tore it up running a 4.43 forty yard dash hitting a 34.5 inch vertical with a 9’11 broad jump. Wilson is a freak of nature and he is one of the best players on film when you cut it on. He has very smooth moves and is a good prospect.
- Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama – The Alabama freaky edge rusher had a 40.5 inch vertical. He also ran a 4.46 forty and had a 10’7 inch vertical. Turner is going to be a freak off the edge in the NFL Draft.
