Patrick Mahomes Sr. is facing 2 to 10 years in prison for his third DUI offense
Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested on suspicion of a DWI in Texas. The arrest comes just ahead of his son’s Super Bowl LVIII matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11
The dad of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and a former MLB pitcher, 53, was booked in the Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, on Saturday, according to jail records.
He is facing a charge of DWI for the third time or more, per the records, and his bond has been set at $10,000.
Mahomes Sr. was previously charged with a DWI offense in 2018. He pled guilty and served 40 days in a county jail.
Before that, the former MLB pitcher faced charges after getting into a one-car accident in 1994, the outlet reported.
He was also arrested and charged with public intoxication during a game between Texas Christian University (TCU) and Texas Tech, his son’s alma mater, in 2016, as well.
Under Texas law, Patrick Mahomes Sr. faces a 2-to-10-year prison term if convicted, marking his third offense of driving under the influence.
Mahomes has already done jail time in 2019 & 2020.
