Pittman’s Pocket: NFL Combine needs to invite more HBCU prospects
There has been a good amount of HBCU players getting over looked by the NFL Scouting Combine.
So far it is another disappointing year for HBCU players getting the big invite to Indianapolis for the NFL Combine. Yet only one of this year’s draft class of 2024 has been selected. Howard Anim Dankwah landed an invite but had a rough week at the Shrine Game. He is a big boy and stands 6’8, so that could help, but many others are being overlooked.
Willie Drew who was at the Senior Bowl, and even though he struggled still has no combine invite.
The Main HBCU prospect that stood out was 6’6 245 defensive end Sundiata Anderson from Grambling State.
He was selected by Hula Bowl HBCU Scout Brian Pittman, before getting the call from Gerald Huggins, and the E/W Shrine Game. I think Anderson deserves an invite.
The NFL needs to do the right thing, Send the kid the invite! There needs to be more HBCU prospects attending the NFL Scouting Combine.
