What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2024 NFL Draft?
What makes me a standout prospect at my position would be my drive to not only to continue to play this sport but also to stand out with my experience and competencies. My ambition is to become the best version I can be and be the best teammate, therefore starting a trickle effect of drive and motivation to completing a mutual goal. I believe my hardnose, between the tackles style of strategic running can more than help benefit any organization.
At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?
My first interest in football dates back to middle school, watching the team play gave me interest in the exciting possibility, and now I view it as a very thrilling, and complex game I quickly fell head over heels for.
What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?
Teams from any league in any location should know that I’m a very coachable athlete willing to help the team succeed in any way. From scout team offense to special teams player, going the extra mile to share my experience in knowing what it takes to win and encouraging other players. Playing in two different countries as well as the NCAA, along with all the divisions I’ve played under, can add value to what I bring as a team player that I’ve learned along the way.
If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?
One cause I would donate to would be any credible organization working towards helping clean up the planet because it’s a growing concern and should be taken seriously from my generation specifically.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
“It’s not where you come from, it’s where you go”. This quote/advice has helped me in my journey playing football from my first year playing freshman year of highschool. This has almost been seen as a life motto as I am adopted. It is not about how life starts out, it’s where you take it. Keeping this in mind helps me prioritize every task in my daily life, it motivates me to chase my dreams and remain faithful and disciplined when motivation runs out. My hopes are to do the same in football.
Who was your childhood hero?
My childhood hero growing up would be my grandmother, as a young adult in addition would add my father as a hero in my life. Both of these individuals mean the world to me and have shaped the man I am and continue to strive to become.
Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?
I just finished a semester overseas studying abroad in the United Kingdom while also playing American football. The most underrated teammate on my last team would be Maxwell Vanhorne, a offensive lineman who, whenever his number was called, he’d showed up and more than performed.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
It irks me when I see someone lacking confidence in the moment, if you are there and made it in the moment you are clearly worth it. I believe in trusting in oneself and keep figuring a way to get the job done.
Who is your favorite teacher ever?
Mrs.Rizzo from my elementary school years is the best teacher! I had the pleasure to learn under her for first and third grade and I cherish the memories I made.
Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?
The hardest moment in my life to overcome was leaving my first university and paying off the large bill to receive transcripts in hopes for another college football opportunity. This time in my life taught me financial literacy, being diligent, preparing and orienting a savings plan and to overcome adversity, making everyday I play American football more of a blessing.
Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?
Something special about West Virginia State University would be the rich African American history that is so immersive and valued on campus. To know the whole history of the campus and how it came to be is something that frames the way I studied. I am more than proud to graduate from WVSU.
If you could have any franchise restaurant in your house what would it be?
If I could I would have Texas Roadhouse in my house to eat those bread rolls everyday! Think of the revenue just waiting to be made.
What is your favorite snack food?
My favorite snack food would either be kettle corn or hard candies.
What is your degree in?
Criminology and Forensic Investigation.
If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?
Passionate and coachable athlete who won’t accept defeat lightly.
If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?
Rashaad Penny
What is your favorite game to play at the carnival/theme park?
My favorite game would be either eating funnel cakes or playing ring toss for a fish!
If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Three people I would have dinner with would be Steve Irwin, the conversations and to hear his life experiences would be just stellar! The second would be Michael Jackson, as a huge fan since I was a kid and as a past dancer his music always will be close to me! The third person to have dinner with would be my grandmother. As I was 16 when she passed I would love to fill her in on the new life experiences and catch up with her.
