Player Summary:

Redshirt Senior from Tyler, Texas. A 3-star prospect (247Sports) out of high school, he lettered 2x helping his offense put up nearly 3,000 rushing yards. He is also one of the strongest members of the Arkansas football team with a 605 lb squat and a team best 445 lb bench. He displays a solid frame with elite height, adequate weight, poor arm length and hand size. Plays with solid AA, effective lateral quickness, solid acceleration in space, acceptable hip and ankle flexion, and adequate initial quickness. Solid footwork getting out of his stance, fluid snapping motion does not hinder his forward momentum. Good accuracy when asked to execute combo blocks, he is good with his initial strike, feeling the IDL before hitting the 2nd level with solid timing and force. Good body position when attacking ILB’s at the 2nd level, he creates running lanes with an effective seal, turning himself laterally with efficient footwork and exhibits impressive effort when finishing his blocks. Can get to reach blocks with adequate initial quickness, arm length makes it difficult for him to maintain his position on the DL when moving laterally. He is very good working the backside of gap scheme runs, you can tell he is very comfortable blocking down and replacing pullers. Gets to a very good position in gap scheme runs by quickly getting out of his stance with solid leverage and lateral quickness, creating a seal from the attacked gap by inserting his front foot towards the DL’s inside leg. Creates good push when asked to double team, he is good breaking the defender into ½’s and working through their shoulder with solid pad level. Adequate in pass pro, can communicate more pre-snap with the rest of the OL to identify potential blitzers coming from the 2nd level and slot. Solid picking up stunts/twists with vision balance, FBI is shown when he quickly recognizes the path of his matchup, passing off the DT’s with his OG smoothly. Solid anchor technique, hip and ankle flexion allow him to absorb power rushes using ground force to stalemate his matchup, giving time for the QB to throw or escape. Needs to improve accuracy with his hands, he consistently misses outside of the defender’s frame, causing him to wrap and potentially called for holding.

Scheme Fit

OC in primarily gap scheme, capable of running zone concepts
