Player Summary:

6th YR RS SR and rotational starter at WR where he aligns primarily in the slot and occasionally as a Z in the Air Raid offense of TXTC. He transferred from KSDC in ’19. He played RB in ’20 and ’21. He possesses adequate height with ordinary weight and below-average speed with an athletic build. He is an average athlete showing a combination of good balance, average COD, explosiveness, lateral quickness and agility with ordinary acceleration and top end play speed. He shows solid FBI as he reads the coverage and finds the soft spot in the zone. He displays average hands possessing sufficient manual dexterity that allows him to make the catch with his hands close to his body. He displays above-average contact balance as he keeps his feet moving on contact and breaks tackles from DB with ordinary explosiveness before picking up extra yardage. He is average in contested catch situations as he uses his body to shield off DB with subpar ball skills before making the catch. He does a good job of adjusting his body to the ball on passes thrown low. He is a good run blocker as he displays solid UOH in his punch, placement, and timing before using his above-average physical toughness and solid play strength to maintain his block against DB with average size. He displays adequate quickness off the LOS. He displays ordinary hip fluidity as he breaks off his stem on a 45 and 90-degree angle on slants and in and out-breaking routes. He struggles to keep his feet in bounds when working the sideline. He does an adequate job of working his way back to the QB on broken plays. He possesses ordinary play speed which prevents him from separating from DB with good AA in off-man and outrunning DB and LB with good foot speed after the catch is made.

Scheme Fit:

Z/Slot WR.

Power Statement:

Intelligent, tough player who is an asset as a blocker and whose above-average contact balance enables him to pick up YAC. Lack of quality play speed prevents him from separating against off-man and possessing a quick release off the LOS.
