Patriots to Buffalo Bills 27 – 21 on New Year’s Eve, What does that mean for Patriots draft position?
Written by Karver Jordan
The New England Patriots have fallen to 4 – 12 on the season after barely losing to the Buffalo Bills. New England’s defense played a solid game despite the score, Josh Allen was held to only completing 15 of his 30 passes for 169 yards with an interception. Allen would score two touchdowns on the ground.
Alex Austin would record his first NFL Interception vs his former team.
The Patriots defense only allowed 281 yards against the Buffalo Bills, The Offense needs to take advantage of the solid defensive play. Scoring off of turnovers is something New England will need to do better in 2024.
The Patriots offense was nearly non-existent until the second half of Football, the previous week Bailey Zappe was coming off his best game as a pro but Buffalo put that momentum away quickly. In this matchup Zappe only completed 16 of his 26 passes for 209 yards with three interceptions, Zappe would get a rushing touchdown for New England. The Patriots offense truly struggled early and that is what got the team into an early hole.
Jalen Reagor would have himself the best game of his Patriot career, the speedy Wide Receiver would record a 98-yard kick return to open up the game.
Patriots draft position update:
The New England Patriots have moved to the number 3 slot for the 2024 NFL Draft. New England will begin looking for their new franchise QB in the Draft. The Patriots team has a solid base, just missing a few key pieces. The Draft is going to be extremely important for this franchise moving forward.
Karver’s Final Thoughts:
The New England Patriots are in a top five spot and are looking for a franchise QB, the 2023 season for the Patriots have been dreadful and most fans are just looking forward to the offseason. In this final matchup of the season vs the Jets expect all the young guys to get a chance to play Football.
